Chase Dodson homered in the first inning and allowed four hits in five innings as South Central defeated Brownstown/St. Elmo last Friday at Bob Page Field. Dodson struck out 10 and gave up five hits and two walks, and one earned run to pick up the win.
Herrick/Beecher City edged Brownstown/St. Elmo to claim the play-in game at the National Trail Conference Baseball Tournament Friday. CHBC and BSE played to a 1-1 tie in the opening inning. BSE moved ahead with two runs in the top of the third but the Bobcats tied in the bottom of the fourth.
Brownstown/St. Elmo blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 6-0 to win the Egyptian-Illini Conference Baseball Tournament Thursday. BSE edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning then tacked on single runs in the fourth and seventh around three runs in the sixth.

Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran handed Brownstown/St. Elmo a 14-8 loss in high school baseball competition Wednesday. BSE edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and led 3-0 until the third when CORL tallied six runs and never looked back BSE outhit CORL 11-7 but committed five errors.
